How To Get Back To Basics - Email Marketing 101

You've heard it before - a highly effective method to generate online cash is to market and sell stuff straight to your email subscribers. Using email messages to promote and sell products or services is also known as email marketing.

It is a technique by which every successful Internet Marketer swears. Spend thirty seconds in any IM-related forum and you will see hundreds of posts talking about the importance of email marketing. Usually these are posts that talk about the latest and greatest super special technique for earning money. If you really want to make money with this method, though, you need to get back to the basics.

Split test your emails. Split testing is a lot easier in email marketing than in other areas of IM, like sites, landing pages and so on, but it is critical across the board.

That's because the email that goes out to which group is completely up to you. Testing might not seem essential but it's the only way for you to figure out which emails and tactics are generating the best response. A special list with people who have agreed to test your messages can be set up. Why not take advantage of the fact that people love giving their opinion?

Don't base your email content on PLR. So many email marketers pad their mailings with cheap PLR content. Your readers deserve better. It's true that some days can be slow on the news front. It's true that creating top notch content that your audience will enjoy and find value in is not easy and is definitely time consuming. It's perfectly alright! You'll see much better results if you don't send out tons of poor quality emails and send out fewer top notch ones.

Your readers will appreciate not having to deal with piles of poor quality emails. If you adopt the less but better quality approach, they'll love you for it.

Don't over mail to your list. Sending out several emails a week is what some people recommend. Every two or three days, you need to send out an article to your subscribers for them to read. This is not always good advice. You know your list. You know what you've promised your list. You know your audience. It is important that you provide everything that they want. If your list is composed primarily of busy professionals, you don't want to bombard them with emails all the time. We all have our favorite methods to use in our net businesses, but we urge you to look at the bigger picture when you are being introduced to new things that really could prove to work well. But this just goes back to the concept of testing because even having an open mind to try something, if only once, is the smart thing to do. For ages, people have been encouraging others about http://www.mybinaryscode.com/ because their results were so good. Not necessarily at all with what we are talking about today, but there are other methods and ideas that are sold and not really the best choices for people to use.

We have all been scammed early in our IM careers, and it can almost seem like a rite of passage for us. Just one great danger for those who believe too quickly is they usually find themselves moving from one method to the next. What causes possible problems is that it all is mixed together, the good with the bad, and you have to figure out which is which. It can be frustrating for everybody, but for different reasons, because there are different situations and people can complain about a strategy that is actually good. There are certain behaviors and qualities you need to acquire, and this is definitely one of them. Getting back to the rudimentary means is smart if things ever become problematical. Notwithstanding the thing you are working toward, this is always true. Build a solid foundation that you can return to over and over again because you know it will serve you well. The suggestions in this article are really only the tip of the iceberg. You'll put together a strong basis of the rudimentary stuff that you can rely on whenever you need to, as you learn, exert yourself and make errors (and fix those errors).
